Revenue, Accounting, and Controls Summer Intern

Job Summary

The MathWorks is looking for a motivated individual to join our Finance and Operations Corporate Accounting Team as a summer intern.  This individual will work with other staff on a variety of different processes and projects.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Learning the Procure to Pay Cycle and assist with the entry and payment of invoices
  • Compiling information for our internal Sales and Use Tax audit
  • Updating bank information, W-9, and G/L distributions in EBS for suppliers

Financial Accounting

  • Learn the NA monthly close and reporting process
  • Complete fixed asset accounting and fixed asset book and disposal
  • Assist with selected company comparison and fluctuation analysis
  • Assist with the review of expense reports

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor's level degree.
  • Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction.
  • Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Additional Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled and working toward a degree in Accounting or Finance, or a related field.
Must be proficient in computerized environment: MS Excel, MS Word, e-mail, etc. 
Must possess excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills. 
Must be reliable, able to prioritize, and multitask.
Must be detail oriented and accurate.
