Software Engineer in Test Intern - Optimization Team

Job Summary

As part of the Optimization QE team, you will learn valuable software testing skills while working on the Optimization and Global Optimization Toolboxes. You will work closely with the Engineering, QE, Usability, and Documentation teams while qualifying bug fixes and new features.


Specific tasks may include developing test suites, performing hands-on testing, debugging test failures, entering defects into the defect tracking database, verifying bug fixes, and collecting metrics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates must be pursuing a master's level or a PhD level degree in a technical discipline.

Additional Qualifications

  • Majoring in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering
  • Course work or experience in numerical optimization
  • Experience working with MATLAB and other MathWorks products
  • Knowledge of PC and UNIX / Mac environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Programming experience in C++ is a plus
