Modeling software architecture intern

Job Summary

Looking for Spring, Summer or Fall 2020 C++ Multicore Modeling Software Engineer intern! 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work with our experienced software engineers to build tools to model software architecture. This position requires someone who has an eye for detail and is passionate about real-time embedded system design. 

As an intern, you will receive a combination of practical experience and training in a work environment that fosters and rewards cooperation, teamwork, learning, and fun. 

This internship will prepare you for a career at MathWorks starting in our Engineering Development Group (EDG).


After training on MathWorks development processes and tools, you will work with the RTOS targeting team on:

  • Conceptualize, design, architect, and implement the next generation automatic C++ code generation technologies
  • Provide out-of-box application creation for industry leading embedded operating system environments (Linux, QNX).  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates must be pursuing a master's level or a PhD level degree in a technical discipline.

Additional Qualifications

  • Pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with a strong academic record
  • Expertise with C and/or C++
  • Experience with distributed systems and/or messaging middleware is a plus
  • Experience in programming and object-oriented design
  • Familiarity with POSIX and Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) (nice to have)
  • Strong communication skills
  • 3 months full-time commitment
