You will work as part of the Facilities Engineering Team, supporting the Mathworks Natick campuses and share responsibilities for the operation and upkeep of facility electrical and fire alarm systems including:

  • High voltage electrical systems
  • Medium and low voltage systems
  • Lighting and lighting control systems 
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Solar power systems
  • Emergency generators
  • Data Centers

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the operation and maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and equipment for all buildings on campus
  • Use the Company Work Order system (Nuvolo) to document and track all Company equipment, operations and maintenance history
  • Managing outside vendors that are needed to install or repair electrical or fire alarm systems. This includes scheduling work, inspecting the work, assuring quality and performance,  processing paperwork, and gaining approval for payment
  • Make regular site tours and ensure efficient operation of all electrical systems and equipment
  • Participation in off hours on call program
  • Extensive knowledge of Federal and State Electrical codes, regulation and standards related to construction and maintenance
  • Help manage fire alarm systems performance through required inspections and maintenance
  • Participate in cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of solutions to improve efficiencies on Campus
  • When necessary, assist in similar duties at other MathWorks Natick Campus
  • The schedule for the position is Monday through Friday, 8:30-5:00 per MathWorks business hours.  Must be able to provide non-business hours support as needed/required per on-call program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7 years of professional work experience is required. Journeyman licensure is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of building Electrical systems
  • Building management systems monitoring (Niagara 4 a plus)
  • Thorough knowledge of tools, all codes, rules and safety standards required in electrical trade
  • Ability to read technical diagrams, blueprints/floor plans, schematics
  • Data Center environment experience preferred
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems (Onyx a plus)
  • Knowledge of Solar PV & Cogen systems preferred
  • Lighting control systems experience (nLight a plus)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Windows, Outlook, Microsoft Teams)
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Experience managing electrical projects
