Configure and control Arduino


Use the Arduino® Explorer to setup an Arduino board, read, write, and analyze data from the board, and generate code in a unified interface.

Using this app, you can:

  • Set up the Arduino board

  • Connect to an Arduino board over USB, Bluetooth®, and WiFi

  • Configure, read from, and write to Arduino pins

  • Visualize data from Arduino pins

  • Record and save data from Arduino pins to the MATLAB® workspace

  • Analyze the recorded data

  • Generate equivalent MATLAB code

Open the Arduino Explorer App

  • MATLAB Toolstrip: On the Apps tab, under Test and Measurement, click the app.

  • MATLAB command prompt: Enter arduinoExplorer.


  • The Arduino Explorer app supports data transfers using general-purpose input/output (GPIO) alone.
