The documentation is not good at all for that particular program. I can see from the code that it always accepts the data when there are exactly two columns. I can also see that multiple columns are permitted under some circumstances, but it is not obvious what the circumstances are.

I would have thought that https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/24148-mcnaughton-s-algorithm was appropriate ? What difference is there between what you need to do and what it does?
