matlab R2021a won't import excel data

Dear Sir / Madam

I have a new install of matlab on my desktop PC at work version R2021a. I am unable to import data from Excel, there is no data shown

When I try importing the same data with an older version of matlab on a different computer, there is no problem and it imports in the usual way with the 'import data from file' tool.

Could this be a bug with the new version? I have never experienced this problem before, it has always been easy to use the import tool for Excel spreadsheets.

Consider sharing the file so we can check on our computers (use the paperclip icon to attach it to your post). If it only happens on your computer, it is likely an issue with your install and not a bug.

Good to know. Sometimes restarting is the simplest fix.
