3-Phase Bridge Converter with R Load using MATLAB Simulink for controlled DC output, waveform visualization, and performance analysis.
This simulation shows how a 3-Phase Fully Controlled Bridge Converter with an R Load works using MATLAB Simulink. It uses six thyristors (switches) controlled by pulse generators to convert three-phase AC power into DC power. The simulation helps us see how the firing sequence and voltage change under different load conditions.
The system works on the principle of full-wave rectification using controlled thyristors. Each thyristor pair conducts for a duration of 120° to achieve continuous DC output. The firing angle is controlled using pulse generators to synchronize with the AC input frequency.
Components:
- Three-Phase Source: Generates a balanced three-phase voltage.
- Thyristors (T1 to T6): Operated in a controlled sequence.
- Pulse Generators: Provides gate pulses to thyristors.
- Series RLC Branch (R Load): Acts as the load resistance.
- Three-Phase V-I Measurement: Measures voltage and current at load terminals.
- Multimeter: Monitors the output voltage.
- PowerGUI (Continuous): Controls the simulation settings.
Applications:
- DC Motor Drives.
- Industrial DC Power Supplies.
- Controlled DC Power Generation.
