Command Window not behaving as expected after running script (Mac OSX)

After running a script in which a figure is plotted, clicking the command window activates it but does not allow typing.

A second click is required to be able to start typing. This happens regardless of the script that was executed.

As a reference, after the first click, the command window is highlighted and there is a caret blinking. It simply does not accept any input.

Im running Matlab 2022b on Mac OSX Monterey (12.5), with an M1 Ultra chip.
