I am trying to do an electrostatic axisymmetric FEM simulation. However, I cant find any examples or at least documentation showing what the symmetry axis is. Is it x, y, z? Or can wen define it somewhere.

Hi Peter,
Usually the symmetry axis is taken as z, and the fields are functions of z, rho, phi, with rho, phi being polar coordinates in the xy plane.

Hi Peter,
As per my understanding, you want to know the axis which is used as the axis of symmetry when doing electrostatic axis-symmetric FEM simulation.
By default, the "z" axis is taken as the axis of symmetry when doing axis-symmetric FEM simulation using "ElectromagneticModel" object. The axis of symmetry can also be set using the "Geometry" and "BoundaryConditions" properties of the model.
Please refer to the documentation to learn more about "ElectromagneticModel" object.
Hope it helps!
