[Ubuntu 14.04] OS Generic Video installed, NO Linux Video adaptor found! (Matlab 2017a)

I used supportPackageInstaller to install "OS Generic Video", but for some reason 'linuxvideo' is still not to be found.
I already:
  • gave permissions to the toolbox folder
  • installed V4L2
  • run with admin permissions
  • updated to gstreamer 1.0
The adaptor exists in the SupportPackages folder, but Matlab can't recognize it.
Any suggestions? (I read all the related posts, but no solution so far)
