Osprey: sound visualization, measurement, localization

View and measure spectrograms of sound files, and localize sounds in them

Osprey is a program for viewing spectograms of sound files and making acoustic measurements of sounds in them. It allows you to change various parameters that affect the computation and display of spectrograms, including the time/bandwidth tradeoff, the window type, and display brightness. It also allows measurement and logging of sounds in the recording (time, frequency, energy, etc.) for use in acoustic analysis, particularly of bioacoustic signals (e.g., animal calls). With sounds recorded from multiple time-synchronized microphones/hydrophones, it also allows you to localize sound sources.
