Movies made by combining a sequence of images in an external program (e.g., QuickTime Pro, ffmpeg) can be significantly higher-quality than the screen-scraped images produced by Matlab's built-in movie tools. This code handles the overhead of exporting and numbering the files. It also includes functions for panning or zooming an image, and for smoothly starting and stopping the displayed motion.
