The Frequency Domain Decomposition (FDD) is an output-only system identification technique popular in civil engineering, in particular in structural health monitoring. As an output-only algorithm, it is useful when the input data is unknown. FDD is a modal analysis technique which generates a system realization using the frequency response given (multi-)output data [Reference: Wikipedia].

Is it ok to use a set of acceleration responses
Hi Mr. Farshchin and thanks a lot for sharing the code. I have a question about the acceleration data. how many sensors are needed? I mean, How many nodes should we get acc response from?
A copy of this code is available on Github @: https://github.com/mfarshchin/Frequency-Domain-Decomposition-FDD
Thanks a lot Sir.
Hi Haseeb,
As you know, resulting mode shapes from experimental modal identification are naturally in the form of complex mode shapes (moving waves). However there are techniques to convert the complex mode shapes to real mode shapes. You could fine some useful information here: “Operational modal analysis of civil engineering structures pages 182 and 183”.
Sir how to extract (Plot) mode shapes from the end results? As that data have a real and imaginary parts. Can you please elaborate?
Thank author so much!
thanks a lot
Sir what was step size of time of the measured accelerometer data
Great!
There is a help video in the rar file which explains how to use the code.
I couldn't find the Help document or video . Can you post a help video or help document?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
