This application communicates with an HP 8753 (a b c or d) Vector Network Analyzer using HPIB. It is setup to make two port measurements, therefore all 4 S-Parameters are measured and returned to the host PC. The measurements along with user Notes and the VNA's setup parameters can be saved to a standard "s2p" file.
For best results, the VNA should have had a full 2-port calibration performed, but for a quick look at the measurement data, calibration is not mandatory.

I recommend the Agilent 82357B USB/GPIB.
Is there any particular GPIB-USB interface you would recommend? I'm developing a lab that requires controlling the HP 8753 over GPIB for a university class, and all the choices available are confusing me.
