Based on the tutorial by Steve Eddins https://blogs.mathworks.com/steve/2011/03/08/tips-for-reading-a-camera-raw-file-into-matlab/

Just packages up a DNG file reader that uses the TIFF class. Applies the linearization curve for compressed NEF formats from Nikon cameras.
