Increasing the resolution of a grayscale image

I have a grayscale image which I need to increase its resolution, how can I do that in `MATLAB`?

Do you expect to get more information by increasing the resolution ala CSI? Or do you want the image to just be saved at a different denser resolution? Why would you want this?
