Hi!
I was about to buy a S7 1200 controller from Siemens to use with the PLC Coder but after looking at the support page (https://www.mathworks.com/hardware-support/siemens-tia-portal.html?s_tid=srchtitle) for this controller it seems that only TIA portal V13 is supported which is a very old version that doesn't even work on Windowsd 10.
As this software seems required to import the generated code from PLC coder to the actual PLC does that mean that the support from Mathworks for this controller ha been removed? Or am I missunderstanding the use of this program?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Kristian,
As per my understanding, you observed for S7 1200 Controller from Siemens that only TIA Portal V13 is supported, and it doesn’t work with Windows 10. You are interested to know if in MATLAB the imported and generated code from PLC Coder to actual PLC for the controller is supported or not.
The Siemens S7 1200 controller is supported by MathWorks. The TIA Portal integrates with the Simulink modeling environment, allowing you to design and implement a control system on PLCs. You can model and simulate a controller and generate IEC 61131 structured text for import into TIA Portal.
However, the TIA Portal V13 is not compatible with Windows 10. It’s only compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. There are some discussions about installing it on Windows 10, but it’s not officially supported and could lead to issues.
MathWorks announced an expanded relationship with Siemens Automation Systems to make it easier for customers to take advantage of Model-Based Design for developing and implementing complex control algorithms. This includes generating code from Simulink and deploying it to Siemens SIMATIC S7 modular PLC controllers.
The support for the Siemens S7 1200 controller has not been removed. It’s just that the TIA Portal V13, which is required for the integration, is not compatible with Windows 10.
You might want to consider using a compatible version of Windows or look for updates or workarounds that allow the use of TIA Portal V13 on Windows 10.
I hope this resolves the issue you were facing.
