Feature detection in ToFD scan image

I want to extract features in the following scanned image of tofd. How can I do that? I want to use these features in neural network as input.

What features are you interested in? Mean gray level? Standard deviation? Skew? Area fraction of bright pixels? Number of lines that go across the image? What do you want? And please don't say "Yes I want all of those" because I highly doubt that I predicted the exact set of things you were interested in when you posted this, because I don't yet have the Mind Reading Toolbox.

Yes I want all of those. But give me some idea about any of these. I dont have much knowledge about this. Can you please give me any tutorial link ragarding feature extraction in image processing. Thank u for reply.
