Case sensitivity of uigetfile

Is it possible to make the FilterSpec in the uigetfile function case insensitive?

If I want to be able to select either *.xls or *.XLS files, currently I have to specify both the capitilised and the non-captialised verison.

e.g.

[filename, pathname] = uigetfile({'*.xls;*.XLS','Excel files (*.xls)';...
 '*.*',  'All Files(*.*)'}, ...
'Pick a file');

I am looking for the same thing! Having two separate options for capital and lower case is very annoying.
