What should I do to create a raw .xlsx data table from as an alternative to disp()?

I have a professor in my introductory MATLAB class who will not allow me to use the disp() function to create a table from the raw data in this spreadsheet. She told me to "create a loop and use fprintf" but I have no idea what she meant by that. It seems like it would be incredibly inefficient. Below is my code as it stands.
[~, ~, dataTable] = xlsread('filename.xlsx','thisPage');
disp(dataTable);

Assignments are often given in terms of unrealistic or inefficient restrictions. If you want the marks for the assignment, you will implement it using the restrictions given by your professor.
