detect a shape (circle) without image processing tool

Hi All,

Is it possible to make shape detection mainly circles with matlab without the image processing tool? I only found on the blogs m files that uses function from the processing tool.

A code will be more then appreciated but a hint to start my code will be also appreciated. By the way my image is not binary but gray.

Hi, thank you for your email. The paper is very helpful. One question: the method is suggested for pictures with : "The input image is edge image, on which black pixels represent background and white pixels are image pixels" and "Store all edge pixels in a one dimensional array".

How can do that for a gray image ?

my concern is that I assume that this works for binary images .. however they have example at the end of the paper using gray images ...
