When generating ert code from within simulink which includes static metrics is the result idependent of variant subsystem settings ?

I have a variant subsystem where one variant declares more Global memory than the other. However, when generating code with the static metrics report option, I get the same Global memory utilization issue no matter which variant is enabled.
