Is there a way to change size of uicontrol slider arrows?

Is there a way to change size of uicontrol slider arrows? Ive looked around and cant seem to find anything. And just to be clear im not talking about the sliderstep bar size, im talking about the arrows on both ends of the slider.Just want to make them bigger.

I can only make the height of them taller, not the width.

It cannot be done without going in at the Java level.

Ive looked around and cant seem to find it, do you know a link? If anything I could just make a '+', and '-' pushbuttons above and below slider....

You could. It just depends on how demanding you are of a particular appearance for your GUI. Have you tried asking Yair on his site? He may figure it out, though I think he has a backlog of stuff to work on.

I asked, but seems like he has alot to dell with, but my code isnt too demanding. Made code that uses soundcard as oscilloscope. The slidebar is to control the trigger(positive and negative). The +,- buttons will suffice. And work.
