While using imwrite command to save int16 image to uint16 in TIff format resulting darker images.

I am using imwrite command to save int16 image to uint16 image. For the same, before using imwrite. I have converted int16 image to uint16. The image is converted to tiff format. But the resultant image is very dark. nothing is visible.
Please help to solve this query. thanks in advance.
