Hi, Is there any way I can validate my algorithm of home automation system on simulink?

I am using matfunc block on simulink to write my algo on, but don't have any idea how should I put loads and user input blocks?

I haven't started making any model yet as I am clueless right now. For a start, I want to develop an algorithm for home energy management system and I want to validate my algorithm on a software. Can you guide me what I can do in this regards?

I do have, infact, I have a sample algorithm as well. But I don't know how to implement it on software.
