what possible matlab function can I use to separate grapes bundle from a ct scan segmentation

I am new to image analysis. could you please kindly help me with this problem. recently, i did a ct scan on a box of table grape, and i need to identify them as bundles and therefore use the shape in my mathematical model.

the picture is one of the grapes i want to extract from the CT scan data. i tried a few different way, imclose to make it as a bulk object and then remove others. however,if i use imclose, the neighbor grape bundles will clump with the targeted bundle. could someone please kindly give me some hint on other possible approaches?
