What role plays "@" and "+" on matlab folder name ?

I often use System Identification toolbox. Sometime, I watch codes in toolbox "indent". I am surprized that foldername is Unfamiliar symbolic "@" "+". What role this symbolic playes in Matlab?

@-folders are for defining classes. +-folders are for defining packages.
