Inconsistent results using SimDriveline's variable gear ratio

I have been trying to create a model of a continuously variable transmission. The variable gear ratio seemed to be an obvious choice for the gearing of the transmission, but so far I haven't been happy with the results. I am using the coriolis acceleration by taking the derivative of the gear ratio. What worries me is that I am getting much different results depending on how much of the final gear ratio is put into the variable gear ratio block. For example, if I want a final drive ratio of 1:1 up to 10:1, it is considerably different if I vary the variable gear ratio from 1 to 10 than if I vary it from 0.1 to 1.0 with a final drive gear of 10. I am trying to understand the cause of this problem, or at least determine the most realistic approach.
Thank you,
Adam

It's difficult to provide a definite answer without seeing the model first. I would, however, suggest that (if you can) you try the new version of SimDriveline in R2011a, which now leverages the Simscape technology. It may help solve your problems.
