How can I read a video stream from Vivotek IP Camera?

Dear All,

I want to process a real time video stream and I have a Vivotek IP camera. How can I connect it to matlab and read the video stream.

I have Matlab2009a. Is it a matter of matlab release?

You cannot do it with any model of camera from that manufacturer, in any MATLAB release up to and including R2012a, at least last time I checked. See http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/27414-how-can-i-connect-vivotek_ip7161-through-matlab

My advice would be to use a camera from a different manufacturer. (I read the manuals and the cameras they make do look interesting and useful for their designed purpose, but they do not happen to have been designed in a way that MATLAB is currently able to read.)
