Getting "Error writting 'Filename.m', Access is denied"

I have my file save in my desktop, and MATLAB itself is downloaded in program files. This error comes up when I try to edit and save the file. Any idea what might be causing this?

Have you eliminated any of the possibilities such as file missing, file protected, file not on path, etc? If you search for this error within the forum or on the internet, you'll find lots and lots of advice and solutions.
Hi Adam,
I have indeed tried all those possibilities. The file is present in my directory, I changed security settings in the directory's properties, and all other things online such as firewall issues.
Does having it in program files affect anything? I dont want to reinstall MATLAB incase this is for sure an issue.
