 D = pdist(PPP)%calculates the euclidean distance of (2,1),(3,1),(4,1),(2,3),(2,4) and (3,4)

could anyone help me how to distance for (1,2,3),(1,2,4),(2,3,4), and (1,2,3,4).

What do you mean? The term 'distance' doesn't really mean anything for more than two points.

i want to calcuate the distance of (1,2) to get the result followed by i need to calculate the distance of (result,3).In the same way it should be done for (1,2,4),(2,3,4), and (1,2,3,4).

I'm going to guess that, 'distance of (1,2)' means you are looking for the distance between the first and second ordered pair. If that is the case then you should get a single numeric value as your return. How then are you going to compare the single numeric value you got back with the ordered pair of the third row? It doesn't make sense to compare a distance to a point.

So you want to calculate the distance of the first two pairs of points added to the distance between the second and third pairs of points? i.e. going from point 1 to point 3 via point 2, essentially?
