The software support package handles all daughter boards that are compatible with the UHD release being used. https://www.mathworks.com/hardware-support/usrp.html
https://kb.ettus.com/UBX says that the minimum UHD for the second revision of the Ubx-40 is 3.9.5. MATLAB has supported that since R2017b. https://www.mathworks.com/help/supportpkg/usrpradio/release-notes.html
Thus as long as you are at R2017b or later you can use the Ubx-40. If you have release 1 of the board you can use it from r2017a on, with the limit being that the support package did not exist before then.

Click on the Release notes. Expand "UHD Support Update" for R2019a:
Communications Toolbox™ Support Package for USRP® Radio supports UHD version 003.013.001.
That is after the minimum release for UBX-40.
The USRP Support Package documentation says,
Use any daughter card compatible with the supported UHD release. To find the supported UHD release, refer to the “UHD Support Update” or “Hardware Support” sections of the release notes.
The wording in the PDF is,
The Support Package for USRP® Radio has been tested on these devices using supporteddaughterboards (see “Supported Daughter Cards” on page 1-4). Support might alsoextend to other UHD™-based radios and daughterboards from Ettus Research™
The implication is that UBX-40 has not been tested. Ettius expects that it will work.
