what does it mean?
When you pause MATLAB and a uicontrol has focus, pressing a keyboard key does not cause MATLAB to resume. Click anywhere outside a uicontrol and then press any key. For more information, see the pause function
where outside the gui should I press- because pause is a general command, and in my figure I have all sorts of UIcontrols so, how can I tell which one is with focus?

Do not click outside the GUI: click in any area of the figure that is blank space, where there is no uicontrol() and no graphic.
