My input is a video. It shows jumping action performed by a man. Can MATLAB identify that the person is jumping??

According to Einstein, NO, it is not possible to tell the distinguish the person jumping compared to the world moving around the person (e.g., a fast elevator)

No. Consider a treadmill moving under the person.
False motion techniques like this are used a lot in movies.
You can perhaps identify that it looks like the person is jumping, or looks like they are walking or jogging, but you cannot distinguish the case of the person moving compared to the surroundings, from the case of the surroundings moving compared to the person. There is no absolute motion.

You need to look at sections 16, 18, and 21 and pick an algorithm
Then code it up and come back here if you need to.
