loading large size text file in matlab.

Hi... Recently I faced a problem while loading a file. In my application I have to load huge data say about 8-9 Gb of data from a text file in my Code.For this purpose I am using dlmread command, but it takes long time to load that amount of data. so if any can guide me through the ways of loading huge data from a text file with minimal time usage... Thank you....

Have you considered converting the text files to binary?
