Generate Fault Trees out of simple Simulink Models

Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on my bachelor thesis whose main objective is to design a tool that generates fault trees out of a simple system architecture made in Simulink.

To do so I apparently have to insert some kind of failure behavior to each component and generate a fault tree in a graphical manner.

I'd like to know if there's a possibility to design such a tool in Matlab with the existing toolboxes or if it's smarter to use a different Program/Engine?
