Questions about the watershed method

Fot the segmentation of many cells close to each other with different intensities I use the watershed method. Now I do not use any markers. During the tracking I lose many cells. I wonder if the standard watershed method leads to the problem to the right. I cannot find anything about this in the documentation. Can someone help me with some information?
