Is firmware necessary for beagleboard to work correctly after support package is installed?

I have downloaded and installed the support package for beagleboard. But the firmware download is getting failed showing download timed out.I wanted to know whether beagleboard toolbox will work well simulink without the firmware. If anybody has that firmware file please help me with that. Thankyou
