How can I close a PDF document in Adobe Reader from MATLAB on Windows?

I have a PDF document opened in Adobe Reader, which I would like to close from within MATLAB.

In order to close an open PDF document in Adobe Reader you can use the MATLAB DOS command to call in turn the Windows TASKKILL command like this:

dos('taskkill /F /IM acroRd32.exe')

This will force the acroRd32.exe process to close.
