Why does MATLAB hang with run time error messages when I run a script twice that performs RTDX processing in Link for Code Composer Studio 1.3.1 (R14)?

When I run a script that performs RTDX processing, it runs without any error messages for the first time. But when I rerun the script, I see the following behavior and error messages:

1. MATLAB stays frozen for some time and eventually throws the following error:

 Error message when using Link for CCS version 1.3.1:

 ??? Error using ==> p_getApiVersion

 The API version of your Code Composer Studio IDE cannot be determined.

2. An error dialog from the CCS IDE persistently appears saying

 RTDX Error Detected!

 UNKNOWN INTERNAL ERROR: An internal error occurred in RTDX

b. An error dialog from the CCS IDE persistently appears saying:

RTDX Error Detected!

This bug has been fixed in Release 14 Service Pack 2 (R14SP2). For previous releases, please read below for any possible workarounds:

This problem arises when RTDX is not enabled properly. When RTDX is not enabled properly, data is not received by the host as expected.

For example, you need to enable RTDX before runninng an RTDX program:

...

cc.rtdx.enable

cc.run;

...

<read data from RTDX channel>
