MathWorks, a global leader in mathematical computing software, is seeking an expert in government programs and policies with a strong engineering or scientific background. This role is for an individual who has navigated the complex landscape of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) or related defense agencies as an engineer or scientist and is now looking to build on that experience to help establish MATLAB and Simulink as platforms for Technical Computing and Model-Based System Engineering.   

Responsabilidades

  • Strategic Advocacy and Technical Relationship Building: Through research, customer visits and your technical knowledge and understanding of defense systems engage with stakeholders across the DoD, including entities like JFAC, OUSD(R&E), DARPA, DIU, and the service branches. Your role will involve both advocacy for and demonstration of the technical capabilities of MATLAB and Simulink in solving complex problems. Participation in Industry Days and societies to understand the priorities of defense policymakers and establish MathWorks as a thought leader.
  • Technical Policy Analysis and Influence: Monitor and respond to RFIs (Requests for Information) with details providing insights on how MathWorks products can support technology development. Using your engineering or scientific background, analyze technology policies and trends, and identify opportunities for MathWorks to contribute to discussions and adoption of MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Collaborative Initiatives and Technical Briefings: Lead and participate in technical discussions, workshops, and initiatives that bring together defense agencies, industry partners, and academia to explore the application of MATLAB and Simulink in different technologies relevant to the Aerospace & Defense Industry. Establish and maintain a funnel of engagements and deliverables including key program office personnel, attendance at MathWorks Advisory Board meetings, inclusion in program requirements, and transitions to the sales team. 
  • Integration with Account Teams: Ensure that the relationships developed are well communicated to the appropriate Account Teams, providing them with the necessary insights and the strategic context to take ownership of the relationship and drive forward sales opportunities where appropriate.
  • Develop Materials: Drive awareness of MathWorks technology through the creation of materials that can be used to respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) highlighting the capabilities and benefits of MATLAB and Simulink. Develop and update collateral, such as case studies, white papers, and product demonstrations, tailored to Aerospace & Defense audiences.
  • Strategic Feedback Loop for Product Development: Act as a link between the Aerospace & Defense sector and MathWorks product development teams. 

Cualificaciones mínimas

  • Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction.
  • Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Cualificaciones adicionales

  • Experience with MathWorks products (MATLAB, Simulink) or other multi-domain simulation software or MBSE tools.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience (7+ years) working with program offices or the Department of Defense.
  • Experience and motivation supporting sales and engaging with government and defense customers
  • Experience with a global software or technology company
  • This position will be based in Washington DC.  The candidate should expect to travel about 25% of the time.
