CAN ID response
R2026bCAN identifier for XCP response messages from target to host
Since R2026b
Model Configuration Pane: Hardware Implementation / Hardware board settings / Target hardware resources / Groups / Host-board connection
Description
Specify the CAN identifier used for XCP response messages sent from the Arduino board to the host computer during external mode communication. The target sends responses (such as acknowledgments, data uploads, and error frames) on this CAN ID, and the host listens for incoming messages on this identifier.
The CAN ID response and CAN ID command values must be different. Using the same CAN ID for both causes a validation error.
The valid range depends on the Extended CAN ID setting:
Extended CAN ID off (standard 11-bit): 0 to 2047
Extended CAN ID on (extended 29-bit): 0 to 536870911
Dependencies
To enable this parameter:
Set Hardware board to one of these boards:
Arduino® DueArduino Uno R4 Wi-Fi®Arduino Uno R4 MinimaArduino Nano R4Teensy 4.0 (Arduino compatible)Teensy 4.1 (Arduino compatible)
Set Communication interface to
XCP on CAN.
Settings
3 (default)Enter a numeric CAN identifier value. The value must be within the valid range and must differ from the CAN ID Command value.
Recommended Settings
Choose CAN IDs that do not conflict with other CAN messages on the bus. If the Arduino board also uses On-board CAN Transmit or On-board CAN Receive blocks, make sure the XCP CAN IDs do not overlap with the message IDs used by those blocks.
