BCI Data Analysis code

I am working on EEG signal analysis. I have a data set which is class 1 for EEG signal. How do I break that data into set of chunks of data which i would use for pre-processing.

Make a function to get data chunks and inside it put a function for processing

function block=chunk(data,no_samples_block,length_of_block)

 [m n]=size(data) %m: samples & n: channels
  s=0;
  for i=1:m/no_samples_block
      block=data(1+s:s+samples_block,:);
      s=s+length_of_block
      processing(block) % function to process one chunk
  end

end

or you can seperate both functions and then put them in main function
