figure1 = figure;
axes1 = axes('Parent',figure1,...
'Position',[0.13 0.262 0.762 0.663]);
text('Parent',axes1,'Interpreter','latex',...
'String','$$\sum_{i=1}^{2n} |k_i-k_j|$$',...
'Position',[0.377 -0.270 9.160],...
'Fon tSize',16);

Note that the syntax used above does not work -
figure1 = figure;
axes1 = axes('Parent',figure1,...
'Position',[0.13 0.262 0.762 0.663]);
text('Parent',axes1,'Interpreter','latex',...
'String','$$\sum_{i=1}^{2n} |k_i-k_j|$$',...
'Position',[0.377 -0.270 9.160],...
'FontSize',16);
Use this instead -
figure1 = figure;
axes1 = axes('Parent',figure1);
x = 0.5;
y = 0.5;
str = '$$\sum_{i=1}^{2n} |k_i-k_j|$$';
text(axes1, x, y, str, 'Interpreter', 'latex', 'FontSize', 16)
