How to remove particular frequency component from a time series??

A) Transform to frequency domain, remove/modify desired components' amplitude, inverse transform, or
B) Design a bandstop filter between the desired band in the time domain.
If you have the Signal Processing Toolbox, there are design tools to simplify the process somewhat.
