Does MATLAB finite element analysis support coupled partial differential equations in different dimensions?

I am working on a problem which requires coupling diffusion on a line (1D) with reaction-diffusion in a plane (2D). I want to solve this system with finite element method. I know the open source software GetFEM supports coupling in different dimensions. Does MATLAB have similar capabilities?
