This feature works only in adjacent lines.
Hold down the 'Alt' Key and drag over multiple lines with the mouse.
You should then see multiple highlighted characters.
This feature only works on Matlab 2021b!

			I support Christopher's request.
Shift+Alt+Arrow(up or down), like Notepadd++ is infinitely better than using mouse.
Is it possible to configure this feature as a user-defined shortcut?

If you have a suggestion, submit it as a feature request.
