ROI not resizing in app after a keyboard shortcut has been pressed

I have created an app with the app designer in which I use ROIs to extract information from images (chemical maps). All my ROIs can be resized interactively and the calculated output is updated live.

This is working fine until I use a keyboard shortcut while the app is selected or in the MATLAB editor. In this case existing ROIs cannot be resized interactively anymore in my app and newly created ones won't resize as well. The only solution is to restart MATLAB. Restarting the app is not enough.

I am experiencing the same issue when I run my app with MATLAB (tested with R2020a, R2020b, R2021b) on macOS or using a compiled version on both macOS and Windows systems.

Has anyone experienced something similar?
