How to Create Video Showing Overground Translational Movement

I have a video that shows someone's footfalls happening over time (see the attached screenshots, I couldn't figure out how to upload a video to this question). The X & Y axes are coordinates in the horizontal plane of the ground (in meters). Currently, the foot positions are always shown relative to the black dot at (0,0) which is the position of the center of mass on the floor. But these footsteps are not happening on a treadmill, just regular overground walking, meaning that they should be covering multiple meters between the two frames' screenshots included here. But for the movie to look fluid the axes sizes must not change, which is difficult when the axes labels themselves change.
What I'm looking for is:
- For the axes labels to reflect the actual position of the feet, not just the position relative to the center of mass. So, they must change over time.
- For the grid to translate as movement occurs to provide a visual indicator that translation is occurring (other than the changing axes tick labels). So, I think that the location of the tick marks on each axis must translate as well to indicate movement.
- Of course, the movie must still look fluid and not cause the axes to change size between frames.
Does anyone know how this can be accomplished? Sorry if this was not clear, I wish I could upload a movie to this question to demonstrate my current version!
